If you signed up for my newsletter outside of the Substack app, shout out to my OGs!
If you don’t read in the app or the comments, my apologies that you likely won’t understand what I’m talking about, so feel free to resume watching True Detective.
Those who do read in the app will understand when I say that Substack is proving to be the new village plaza, the new watering hole, the water cooler. There are some really heart-centered, brilliant people on this platform.
Truth be told, the comments I’m getting are as valuable, if not more so, than anything I write. If you haven’t, please read the comments in my latest post about energy and my post about neurodiversity, about how patriarchy harms men, and how art is communal healing. If you are missing the comments, you are missing out!
I want to thank you so deeply and also let you know that I try to respond to every single comment. If I don’t, that’s my bad, but I do try! because I love every single one of them, even the ones that disagree with me. (The only ones I don’t love are the ones that explain patronizingly, but those are few and far between.) I like to think that the energy from all of us bouncing ideas off of each other is making this world a better place.
I love this community, these readers. You guys are heart-centered and spiritual and brilliant and well-read and intelligent and thoughtful. It’s mind-blowing to meet you in this way. In some ways, it’s the best way, beyond the limits of geography, skin suits, and cultural demographics. This community transcends cultures and countries, this meeting of spirits and intellect.
It gets me so charged and excited. I love it so much!
Thank you for being here, showing up, reading, commenting, arguing, and sending me podcasts and accounts and book recommendations I need to follow and read but will probably never have time to.
You guys are making this something special, and I’m just happy to start the fire.
So gunalchéesh, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I feel this! "I like to think that the energy from all of us bouncing ideas off of each other is making this world a better place." I don't think it's just a thought either. Its real. If everything is energy, then the energy from this place has a ripple just as surely as rock thrown in the ocean. ❤️
I love that on these substacks the reader is just one connection away from having a direct exchange of ideas between reader and author. A new public plaza as you said!
